Why Choose Texas Dentistry for Invisalign?

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to gently shift your teeth into their ideal position and give you the smile of your dreams. Each new set of aligners is custom designed by one of our dentists to comfortably fit in your mouth and exert a gradual pressure on your teeth to create a more aligned smile.

Instead of the noticeable brackets and wires of traditional metal braces, Invisalign’s trays are crystal-clear – so much so that unless someone knows what to look for or they’re standing incredibly close to you, they shouldn’t even be aware you’re wearing the aligners!

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

Since every patient’s smile is unique, there is no fixed amount of time it will take to achieve a perfectly straight smile with Invisalign. In most cases, though, patients are able to fully straighten their smiles in as little as 12 to 18 months, which is just a fraction of the 24 to 36 months that it usually takes with conventional braces!

To reach your desired results in a timely fashion, wear your aligners at least 20 to 22 hours a day, or as directed by your dentist. Essentially, only take them out at mealtimes and when it’s time to brush and floss. Since cavities and dental infections can compromise your treatment, it’s imperative that you practice excellent oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing every day.

Benefits of Invisalign Clear Braces

Ultimately, the only way to know if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign is to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists. We look forward to helping you reach your goal of having a beautiful, healthy smile!

Understanding the Cost of Invisalign

Money being clenched in a set of teeth

Invisalign, a unique blend of cosmetic and orthodontic dentistry, creates a bit of uncertainty regarding its cost. This hybrid nature often leaves prospective users questioning the financial implications of opting for these clear aligners. For those seeking a clearer understanding of the expenses involved in this dental care approach, here's an insight that might aid in planning your budget more efficiently.

Factors that Affect the Cost of Invisalign

The price of Invisalign is influenced by several individual factors. Firstly, whether the treatment is needed for one or both dental arches can affect the cost. Secondly, the complexity of the dental correction plays a significant role; simple issues like a single gap may cost less than correcting multiple, severely misaligned teeth. Additionally, the duration of treatment impacts the expense, as longer treatments necessitate more aligners. Finally, the patient's adherence to guidelines, such as wearing the aligners for the recommended 22 hours daily, can influence the treatment's length and, consequently, its cost.

Invisalign VS Smile Direct Club™: Which Costs More?

When considering teeth straightening options, Invisalign and Smile Direct Club™ offer distinct approaches. Invisalign, with a price range of $3,000 to $8,000, provides a comprehensive service under the guidance of a dental professional. This ensures precise, professionally made impressions and a monitored treatment process. On the other hand, Smile Direct Club™, priced at around $2,000, offers a more affordable "do it yourself" clear aligner kit. However, this cost-effectiveness comes with a trade-off: the absence of professional oversight. This DIY approach can lead to challenges, such as making your own dental impressions and the risk of not following the treatment correctly. These issues could potentially lead to complications that might require professional intervention later. While Smile Direct Club™ can tempting for its lower cost and convenience, Invisalign offers the reassurance and quality of a dentist-supervised treatment, which could be crucial for a successful and worry-free orthodontic experience. If you want a smile you can be confident in, Invisalign is the way to go.

Does Dental Insurance Cover Invisalign?

Invisalign coverage varies with dental insurance plans; many do not include it for orthodontic treatment. However, exceptions exist, so it's advisable to consult your dental insurance provider for specific details. Additionally, our team is available to assist in this process. If available, you can also utilize your FSA account to offset the costs of Invisalign, making it a potentially more affordable option for enhancing your smile.

Options for Making Invisalign Affordable

Even if your insurance company doesn’t end up covering the cost of your care, we have options that may be able to bring these treatments within your budget.

For one, we have an in-house membership plan. This operates a little bit like insurance specifically for our practice—for a flat monthly fee, you can get complimentary preventive services along with a steep discount on all the care you receive from us. Unlike insurance, however, there’s no deductible or yearly maximum to worry about.

We also accept financing services via CareCredit, which allows you to split the cost of care into more manageable payments. They even offer no-interest six-month terms to patients that qualify.

No matter your financial situation, we’ll be happy to have a conversation with you about what kinds of financial options are within your reach.

Invisalign FAQs

If you’re considering Invisalign to straighten your teeth, then you already know it’s a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces. However, it’s only natural to have a few questions about the treatment before you begin. To help you make sure this is the right treatment for you, we’ve compiled the answers to some frequently asked questions about Invisalign below. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us. At Texas Dentistry, we’re always happy to help!

Does Wearing Invisalign Trays Make It Hard to Speak Clearly?

It varies from patient to patient. Many people are able to clearly enunciate from the beginning, while others experience a brief adjustment period during which they have a slight lisp. It can take a few days to get used to speaking clearly while you’re wearing the aligners. Fortunately, “training” your lips and tongue is fairly straightforward. Some people find that reading or singing aloud, particularly words with a lot of “S” sounds, can speed up the process.

How Do I Take Care of My Clear Aligners?

Here are some tips to keep your aligners in great condition:

Does Invisalign Treatment Hurt?

For the few week or so after beginning treatment, or switching to a new pair of aligners, some patients experience a bit of soreness or sensitivity. This is completely normal. In fact, it’s a sign that your treatment is working. The aligners work by placing a small amount of force on your teeth to shift them into a straighter position.

Any discomfort that you feel while wearing the trays should subside after a few days. In the meantime, taking an over-the-counter painkiller as needed should be enough to relieve it.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

Like most dental treatments, the cost of Invisalign is different for every patient. The price is dependent on several factors, such as your age, the severity of your issues, and your level of insurance coverage.

Our practice is in-network with many, many dental insurance plans. We’ll gladly look over your policy and maximize the benefits you qualify for. For the uninsured, we can assist you in applying for a low-interest loan with CareCredit. Alternatively, we offer an in-house membership plan that gives you discounts on ALL of our services, as well as FREE preventive care, for a flat yearly fee.
