Dr. DeLeon has been working in the dental field for over five years so far, and she looks forward to many more as a part of the Texas Dentistry team! In particular, she enjoys helping patients overcome any fears they have surrounding the dentist’s office and helping them achieve healthier, happier teeth that last. To learn more about her background, continue reading below.
Dr. DeLeon has enjoyed going the dentist’s office ever since she was a little kid – she always found the environment to be very calm and relaxing! While in college, she shadowed a dentist who encouraged her to consider becoming a dentist; there was a lack of minority and female dentists in the field who could help bridge the gap for similar patient populations. This discussion inspired her to start the necessary schooling, and all these years later, she’s very happy with her decision. Her family, which includes a long line of educators, also supported her every step of the way with a lot of enthusiasm.
Dr. DeLeon completed her undergraduate degree at Southwestern University before moving onto Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, where she achieved her doctorate. She was also a post-baccalaureate fellow. Today, she is certified in both Invisalign and Level 1 Minimal Sedation while continuing to pursue advanced training on a routine basis. Staying up-to-date with the newest techniques in dentistry and expanding her knowledge are important priorities for her!
